The bushfires that have swept through Victoria have been devastating. Many people escaped with only the clothes on their backs. Many were not so lucky and lost their lives. Some were lucky and managed to save their animals, however in many instances they have no home to return to, or if they have a home, have lost all of their fencing and equipment.

Over the coming days and weeks charities will help those who have lost everything but unfortunately the conventional charities are not equipped to provide the much needed support to animal owners who need basic equipment, housing, medical supplies and feed.

PLEASE HELP SAVE THE ANIMALS - AND THE SANITY AND HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEM. THIS ISN'T JUST ABOUT ANIMAL WELFARE, IT'S ABOUT HELPING THOSE ALREADY IN DIRE NEED, WITH SOMETHING THAT IS SO VERY IMPORTANT TO THEM.

The Melbourne-based Print-on-Demand Art website RedBubble.com has set up the Phoenix-Appeal profile where people can donate artworks with all proceeds going to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal. RedBubble have promised to match donations dollar-for-dollar. Click on each thumbnail to see larger images.

How You Can Help - Financially & With Goods

Below is from the Master Dog Breeders Association. They have started a not for profit arm, with the purpose of providing assistance to dog owners, especially those now affected by the Australian bushfires.

We have Briard people living in the area, some were packed ready to go, but at the moment are safe. Many other dog people were not so lucky, some have lost everything including whole kennels of dogs and their homes. Many have lost family members and whole families have perished in the fires.

The Aussie Briard Forum raises funds for Briard Rescue each year, by producing beautiful calendars and other bits and pieces, and we normally make an annual donation to a rescue group. This year our funds have gone to the association below.

So thank you to our many local & overseas buyers, your $$ have gone to a very worthy cause

"Lots of dog people in Vic around Yarra Glen, Warburton, Kilmore, Wondong, Flowerdale and surrounding areas have lost their homes, some their dogs. Many are trapped on roads/propertys unable to get out at this moment.

The MDBA has a non profit company - Master Dog Breeders Emergency Aid set up to collect and help where required.

We are now calling for donations urgently to help dog owners who are in dire straights.
